The Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management will be home to undergraduate and graduate degree programs, executive education, and continuing professional development activities that focus on the needs of tourism professionals seeking entry to, or already employed in, the international travel and hospitality fields.
The Faculty will serve as one of Asia's "gateways" to the emerging Pacific Rim tourism and hotel sectors, preparing international learners for successful careers in these fields in countries throughout the region and the world. Graduates will meet, exceed, and set anew global standards of excellence in service and business acumen.
With many years of experience in educating Malaysians in the field of hospitality service, the faculty today can be proud of its achievements and developments.
The expansion of the faculty in the affiliate campuses, and the establishment of its hospitality centre of excellence are indicators of our forward moving into new frontiers of knowledge and information. Two centres of excellence are designed to coordinate hospitality and tourism research and consultancy.
In preparing the next generations to be the leaders of the industry, the faculty advances the professional standards and goals of the industry into the curriculum. Industry linkages and participation in the academic arena are also emphasized.
